Forza Motorsport 3 contains hundreds of cars and tracks and would be daunting, if not for the newly improved career mode. The game is able to analyse the way you play and the kind of cars and races you enjoy for the ultimate personalised experience. The artificial intelligence of your rival racers is just as advanced, with some panicking if you get too close and all racing according to their own styles - not just staying stuck to the racing line. With an even more expansive suite of online options, all filtered according to your skill level, this may be the only racing game you'll ever need on Xbox 360.

Racing games have been quite popular in the gaming world for the past few years. Fans and gamers want to immerse themselves in the very exciting and thrilling game of racing tournaments. Sony’s Gran Turismo may still be the leading game when it comes to the racing genre; but Microsoft has given Gran Turismo its formidable counterpart: the Forza Motorsport 3 on the Xbox 360, which was released on the last quarter of last year. Forza Motorsport 3 has delivered to its fans the genuine fun and excitement that only an extreme racing game truly possess.

Developed by Turn 10, Forza Motorsport 3 has adopted a new philosophy: Make it accessible. Fans will get to experience and enjoy the hardcore simulation racing title. The traditional career mode is relatively simple to start but is quite challenging and immensely fun to finish. Players also get to auto-tune their cars or lunge into a great set of tuning choices. Simply put, Forza Motorsport is indeed one of the best made racing games ever.

Forza Motorsport 3 is unlike other racing games where cars of better quality are locked on the outset of the game. All the 400 vehicles in Forza Motorsport 3 are already available from the get-go. You need to earn credits to buy and use some of these cars, though; and they are expensive, mind you. But if you’re able to whip up a million credits, you can race throughout using the Bugatti Veyron. Forza Motorsport 3 is certainly not just an ordinary racing game. You don’t start with the crappy cars. You can start directly with the cool ones. Forza Motorsport 3 is also equipped with a very interesting tire-physics. Players get to understand how their cars react to every turn or move. When the driving assists are off, players can even enjoy the feel of driving different cars. It’s a totally awesome experience of how one car is totally different from the others.

For those who are wondering how you can possibly properly drive a car in a racing game without the racing wheel and with the assists off; well, here’s the astounding news. The developer, Turn 10 Studios, has finally mastered the subtleties of the controller; the result of which is, you have better responsiveness and you can just drive forever with only the controller and have no reason to complain at all. Another great thing with Forza 3 is that even Novice drivers are encouraged to put off the assists and take off the training wheels.

The interesting versatile rewind function makes everything possible and allows players to instantly skip backwards in five-second intervals. If you’re not satisfied with how you drive; just use rewind. If you crashed into a wall; make use of rewind. And get this - there are no penalties for using this function. You can rewind as many times as you want - there’s just no limit to it! Of course, you can get to the habit of using it as a crutch and that’s not fun at all; but it sure gives you the motivation to push up the difficulty to a higher level, giving you more reasons to appreciate your car even better.

The spectacular visuals of the game are another aspect for great appreciation in this game. Dazzling car models are greatly detailed with unique interiors for every car. Full damage modeling will also be felt by the players. You will see dents, cars flipping in the air, and the paint even scraped off when you hit or bump into something. In other words, it is so authentic you’d think you’re driving the car in real - down to the minutest details of accidents!

Equally impressive is the audio feature. The roar of an engine has never sounded better - plus, you won’t believe how every car can sound so differently from each other; it’s like being able to differentiate a Mustang from a Porsche by merely listening to its engine sound.

Forza Motorsport 3 is the consummate experience in racing games. Sure, there’s still room to grow. The visuals can do with a little bit more improvements and the career mode might sag at times; but Microsoft and Turn 10 have absolutely made it tougher for Gran Turismo. Now they would have to come up with an even more superior racer in Gran Turismo 5. They’re going to need the best luck they can get to top Forza 3; after all it is THE racing game of this generation.
