Guitar Hero III is as solid as ever. Basic tweaks were made in the game, but the core has not changed so much that fan will still love it. Any issues that might arise during game play is that the addition of new modes and designs can get in the way of fun; and the extreme difficulty of some of the game’s songs might turn off rookies. These aside, Guitar Hero III offers solid content that is hard to argue with.

Your controller is in the form of a guitar, with 5 fret buttons and a strummer. Notes fall down across the screen, hit the matching buttons, and voila! ROCK! Guitar hero III offers a song list that spans across multiples eras and genres. There’s something for everyone to be satisfied; from the metal heads to the modern rockers.

There are 4 levels of difficulties in the game, with easy and medium offering a good starting point for beginners. The game heats up in the hard and expert levels. The jump is just too much for anyone, some songs are so intense it is unlikely that anyone will have a clue what to do and how to do these songs.

Throwing these things to the side, the game is still tons of fun. Hammer - ons and pull - off, techniques used to hit crazy streaks of tightly packed single notes rae now easier than ever, and the notes that can be played on now glow brightly in order for you to notice them. A counter keeps track of the note streaks you perform, with periodic phrases that announces you have just passed a certain streak milestone. Changes in the power meter displayed is evident, as well as in the score tracker.

Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock offers the best tracklist so far for any Guitar Hero game. there are a lot of master tracks from the original bands and artists themselves. Higher difficulty levels both ensure higher experienced players won’t get bored quickly but run the danger of intimidating people. These are all the factors that matter for this game.
