Legends of the Guardians PS3 Review. Not even a certain teen wizard can save the owls for a long time – for me at least. I have preconceived ideas about owls, such as since they are nocturnal animals they are essentially boring and must have no role in any film or game. Save for that certain movie wherein they use owls as messengers. That made me want to have a trained owl pet to send various packages to lousy game developers. Harharhar.

It all started with the creative mind of Kathryn Lasky, who explored the owl kingdom thru her book series, Guardians of Ga’Hoole. The books gained enough popularity for someone to think it is worthy of a film adaptation – I loved the books and hated the film. Now, a game has been made after the same books. You will play as young owl Shard on a quest to find the Guardians who will save their home from the enduing chaos. On the way, you will encounter dangerous bats and evil owls. The game ends in 3 hours – too short for any kind of game, even if it is for kids! The overly simple mechanics and the repetitive missions are so monotonous and tiring even a kid won’t put up with it!

Combat controls are very simple: hold a shoulder button to lock onto an enemy or enemy structure and press a button to attack it when you are close enough for the attack prompt to appear. 2 attacks are available – a normal attack, and an attack that breaks through armor. By locking on to a flying foe and pressing the attack button, you go zooming toward your enemy and catch it with your claws, making a combo attack for a more easier victory. A 3rd one, which is completely pointless, is the ability to do a 180 – degree turn midair. Why would you want that in the 1st place?

This game has serious issues with monotony. I will never look at owls the same way again – thanks to this game. You are better off spending your money on some another game rather than this pointless piece of crap.
