LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues combines the fun and creative construction of LEGO bricks with the wits, daring and non-stop action of one of cinema’s most beloved adventure heroes. With a unique, tongue-in-cheek take on all the Indiana Jones films – including for the first time ever Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – LEGO Indiana Jones 2 follows Dr. Jones’ escapades from the jungles of South America to the Peruvian Ruins and beyond. Fans can experience the most authentic LEGO experience yet by designing and building their own levels brick by brick, and by fusing their levels with the ones in the game to create a custom experience.

In LEGO Indiana Jones: The Adventure Continues the gameplay is just like all the rest of the series. The player comes in, smashes things left and right, front and back and then collects everything possible in the way of rewards. The only distinctive change to the mechanics of the game play is the whip. In the first Indiana Jones game, the player had to be somewhere specifically just to get at something or someone. This one only involves holding on to the attack button, aim and make a choice on what to do with that whip. There are still the limitations set by the level of the character, but the fact that this is now easily done improves the gameplay considerably. The character cannot die, it only looses studs.

Presentation has worsened, somehow. This focuses mainly on the fourth movie, the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but it still retains some of the features of the older movies. Unfortunately, the first three films had a better chance of a good gameplay than the fourth one did, that they had to rush through the first three did not do the game well. It comes out disconnected and confusing so the player ends up in the same situation as the presentation.

There are some things that are coming out in this game that has no connection to any of the movies at all. One example is a giant boss monster. There are also a lot of things, scenes, which are not connected to the movies as well. In short, the game looks like it had been loosely based on the movie franchise, maintaining its title and main character. Other than that, there is no connectivity.

There is something totally new in the LEGO Indiana Jones: The Adventure Continues. There is the level creator where the player gets to put up pre-built items and make out levels, totally different from having to carve out the caves manually. The creations are not as nice as those in the original versions.

Yes, there are some new things in LEGO Indiana Jones: The Adventure Continues, but there is a lot lacking in it as well. The old formula which was successful had been tampered with and came out lacking. The secrecy in the main levels is no longer there, and that is a major disappointment. This just made the whole game seem inconsequential. For those who have the original game, LEGO Indiana Jones, stick with that one, there is no loss. There is also no need to spend that money. Another thing, the older version was a better presentation and it actually made sense.
