This may sound biased, but as a fan of everything Lucas, as long as this guy is involved, nothing will go wrong. Escape from Monkey Island is another adventure game developed by the almighty Lucas and it is spectacular. All, right enough with the praises, on to the nitty-gritty.

The Monkey Island franchise have always been popular as they are fun, challenging, humorous and modern. Escape is the fourth of the series and there are a lot of funny parts and then there are a lot of not-so-funny stuff. This is the inconsistency that makes the game unique. There are a lot of puzzles and challenges. There are some hiccups though that can ruin the experience for those who are intensely engrossed with the game.

Monkey Island is the next chapter to the Guybrush Threepwood adventure series. Here, the mighty pirate and beloved new wife, Governor Elaine Marley, comes back from their lovely honeymoon to the real world of chaos. Not only is Elaine erroneously declared dead, she lost her position as governor. Now, she not only has to run for governor all over again, but she has to run against the foppish Charles L. Charles. Here is a man with a deep, dark secret.

To complicate matters even more, the once seedy and dangerous pirate hub Tri-Island has been converted into a tourism site, all thanks to Ozzie Mandril, aptly named Australilan developer. If complicated is bad, it gets even worse. Now, everyone is looking for some artifact strangely labeled Ultimate Insult. Although these events may seem unrelated, in fact they are and now Guybrush must not only help Elaine gain her governorship back, he must halt the sacrilege to his pirate jaunts and discover the whereabouts of this Ultimate Insult voodoo thingy. All in the name of good versus evil.

To accomplish all these tasks, Guybrush must now do everything he can to complete tasks, solve puzzles, kill some guys, discover some treasure and other weird stuff. There are not that many jokes and characters in this version but it’s really fun and funny. And that’s what makes this so great. It is the unexpectedness of it all. It is not a cliche and it is definitely not redundant or mundane. It is as different as different can be. Oh, and don’t forget the swashbuckling. What pirate game does not have, swashbuckling?

One thing for certain: all those who have had the chance to play with the previous games are sure to love this one. Now, there are some hiccups as mentioned. One of them is having to go through the inventory so many times. As this is really a seeking game, it is important to keep track of all the objects won. Some of the puzzles are so strange that they can be frustrating to try to solve. Again, the frustration just adds on to the appeal, so there is that weirdness again. But in the end, Escape from Monkey Island is a huge success. Yes, there are some hiccups, but then I don’t like perfect games, they’re boring.

This may just be one title that you never expected to see in your life as a gamer. It sounds more like something they talk about in the UN rather than something you play in a computer, doesn’t it? in fact, the title even borders on geeky if you really think about it.

But this is really a politics based game and as you know, it may sound boring because games that are politics based are quite rare when it comes to the gaming world. See, the reason for this is that most gamers really do feel as if this is a tedious and rather boring genre of gaming that they do not want anything to do with. They’d much rather let other people play it seeing as it is not exactly full of fun and action filled good times.

This is a game that is as complex as the title suggests. There is a huge number of options that you can tweak, choices that you have to make and any decisions that you make can have a huge make or break impact on your political career. In this game, you become a leader of one country that is, sad to say, financially screwed. We are talking flat out broke here and you have to find a way to help turn its fortunes around. Your budget has a gaping deficit that you have to find some way to control and the decisions Fall on your shoulders. That is a tremendous amount of pressure if you really think about it and the smallest decision can have the biggest impact that can have the potential to ruin your carefully built economy.

There are some tough choices that you have to make here and maybe you will finally understand how hard it is to rule a country. For one thing, to cover your deficit, you may want to impose taxes but to even think of imposing higher taxes on a population that is already suffering is one sure way that you will ruin your political career. Your citizens will hate you for that and while you may be able to fix the deficit, you will not really go anywhere in politics. But you also cannot afford to make any job cuts or make cuts on public spending; doing so is akin to political suicide. There will also be war raging across the world and each side taking part in the war will be asking you to make your position known. Added to that you will have a trade union gearing up for a massive strike; this only adds to the headache that you already have.

There is no use beating round the bush, this is a very complicated game indeed that will demand a lot of patience from you if you want to succeed at it. It involves some quick thinking and a lot of strategising that may prove to be mind numbing at times. If you want to try it, please do go on and give it a try.

Gamers who like shooting games online are sure to wonder at the excellence of Battlefield 2. It is a thrilling online game that has numerous innovations never seen in other games before. The voice support is just as great as that of the game console version, the functions for both squad and commanders is excellently developed, the graphics are insanely fantastic, and the action is definitely up there.

There are some downsides, but what game doesn't? There are times when the loading time can take a lot of patience. Then there are the online buddies which may be difficult to keep track of, the server browser hiccups, the gameplay mode can be uncooperative at times and then there is the frustrating rebinding controls.

When others dismissed Battlefield 2 as just another one of those run of the mill sequels, they were surprised when it proved, without a doubt, that this is one sequel, which can be considered a stand-alone. Better still, it has quietly proven that a sequel can be better than the original version.

For those who are not familiar with the series, Battlefield 2 is not the second in the series, it is the third. At first glance, it seems to have stuck close to the original formula, which was apparent with the first two games. However, this time, the gamer has the option to use modern weaponry and equipment in the middle of the battle.

Battlefield 2 is set in the not so distant future in conflict ridden locations like China, the US and Middle Eastern Coalition, a fictional place made up of the present day Middle East countries we know today. Somehow, all three have gotten into a fight to the death. The beauty of this version is that it is awesomely unpredictable. There are so many scenes where a single combat can take you to places you've never been before. There are a lot of fights and boss fights to play and it can get grisly like any other combat games.

New and innovative features include the voice over IP where every single game has its own real time voice capability. Investing in a headset with microphone is a must here so the team play gets to a higher level. Online, the team players can shout instructions to one another and plan on ahead of time their gameplay. This is a little over the top and it is my favorite application to date.

There is only one thing I can say: the innovations that has improved this game has made it a little steep to top. There is no other feeling than getting the chance to talk to and play with other online players on real time. No need to use the chat box, it is real-voice chatting here, folks, and it is fun. Take it this way, if a gamer comes in and dismisses this as a mediocre game, the problem is the gamer, not Battlefield 2.

Have you ever wanted to be in a western movie? You know the likes, gritty and shady characters hanging out smoky saloons; where people draw their guns at 12 noon? Well, if you have always dreamed of being part of a western movie, Call Of Juarez: Bound in Blood is just the game for you.

This is actually a prequel to another game and while prequels are often looked at as a step back, this game does anything but that. As a matter of fact, it even takes the game one step further then the first game. That said, this game is outrageously intense and very riveting. It takes the best elements from the first game and improves on them while at the same time ditching the elements that detracted from the first game. Turning the game on will immediately take you to the world of six-shooters and moustachioed gunmen right out from the wild wild west.

The first thing that you will notice is that the developers did not spare any expense when designing the game and you will definitely see that in the way they just gave everything in the game the most iconographic western touches. Gun men will have intense eye to eye contact before drawing their weapons; people will have very dramatic demises when they fall of balconies after being shot; why, you will even have all out gunfights in certain areas. Now that is what the wild wild west embodies.

The story line is certainly no slouch as well. It touches upon the feelings and themes that were very prevalent back in the days. You will see themes of greed, honor, betrayal and the like. Why, it even touches upon love at certain points. While these themes are in no way groundbreaking, you will find that they make for a very compelling type of narrative that will draw you in and keep you hooked. Because really, who doesn't go crazy for westerns with those themes?

There are two central characters to this game and you will find that the transformation of the two undergo will be very surprising, the flow is so well executed that you will understand exactly how it comes about. These two characters add a very important intensity to the game. Just as intense as the gunfights that you will face.

Another great thing about this game is that you will even get to spend some time on horseback and really, just how amazing is that? To add more to the experience, you will even chance upon some Native Americans who will run after you in search of blood.

While your enemies in this game may be a tad bit predictable and more than a little dim at times, they still pose enough of a challenge to keep you riveted and playing for hours. The downside to this is that the game is over just a little too quick especially if you are having tons of fun playing; but on the upside, you can always play it again.

Are you looking for an online game that will let you wear super tight tights and don a cape? If that is the case then head on over to Champions online where you can do just that and not only will you get the chance to wear tights and a cape, you will also get to have superpowers that you can use without any qualm. This is by no means the first online role playing game of its kind and in fact has its predecessors to thank.

You see, this kind of superhero game has been around for ages and plenty of people have enjoyed playing but what Champions does is that it takes those games into consideration and improves upon them. Not to say that this game is perfect of course as it still has some elements that keeps it from becoming perfect but it is amusing enough that you will definitely be entertained for hours on end.

One thing that is really nice about this game is that you can design your own superhero so that it looks exactly like you want it to look. That means that your hero will be unique and will definitely stand out amidst a sea of spandex wearing super types. And really, what is the point of being a superhero if you just blend in the crowd? Another thing that you have a hand in designing is your very own nemesis who will turn up to run after you later on in the game. You designed the bad guy therefore you have to find a way to vanquish it. It is as simple as that. Another thing that makes this game very different from its predecessors is that you can now pick up various objects off the street and use them to your advantage. Does your enemy have an abnormally thick skull that your mind powers cannot get through? No problem, simply pick up a garbage bin and bash him over the head with it. That might just do the trick.

This is a game that is as flexible as a rubber band since you may also choose which powers to bestow upon you character. But the sad part is that you only get power upgrades every three levels or so; this means that you have to choose between the cool powers and the more practical ones that are being offered at the time. But hey, it is your superhero and you have complete control over how it looks and what it can do.

While it may indeed lack depth, its sure does deliver some serious entertainment and isn't that the whole point of playing games? That being said, you may want to give this game a try and see how you like it; you can come up with a really crazy character with the coolest powers or a more said character with the more useful powers that is entirely up to you and how you want to play this extremely flexible game.
