Super Gamer Dude

Nintendo Wii

The game is simply about making a band work. A group of four performs together to get the maximum score. The game moves through no less than 40 licensed rock singles. Players perform on imaginary guitar while being backed up by realistic vocals and drumming. This game is a great investment for all music lovers and even those dreaming of becoming a rock star one day.

What makes the game totally unique is that it combines three different games into one. The guitar game lets you have a feel of Guitar Hero with slight differences though. The guitar is larger in size and the body is more solid. It has large fret and small fret buttons lined up down the guitarÂ’s neck. Added to it are different switches which give built-in effects over the guitar track. The guitar, however, may differ depending on the console a portable guitar is available for PS3 gamers while Xbox 360 owners get a wired one.

The singing gameÂ’s mechanics is akin with Singstar and Karaoke Revolution with some distinctions. The main objective is to match the singerÂ’s voice with the lyrics appearing on the screen. As the game progresses, several sections would instruct the vocalist to insert voice effects like changing the pitch, making some noise or tapping the microphone for a rhythm. The vocals game is would make the player sing like a pro.

The guitar and vocals game are truly enjoyable. Besides these, the addition of drums provides a powerful trio. Drum set contains a pair of drumstick, four colored buttons and a pedal. The drum set is so realistic. Players hit on the pad most of the time to create a rhythm. Use of pedal is rare but still contributes to the challenge of the game. Difficult drum strokes are fed continuously as the level goes up. Getting the beat may sound simple but actually each song has different notes and rhythm. ItÂ’s interesting how the drumÂ’s rhythm affect the entire audio quality and the bandÂ’s performance.

Lastly, the whole presentation of the game goes beyond its audio and graphic quality. Rock Band offers a new set of gaming experience innate with the game. Surely, its addictive nature will draw surely lots of Rockstar wannabes and fans. ItÂ’s definitely worth trying for all sorts of players.
