If you are considering adding The Sims 3 Pets Limited Edition for the PC to your already existing The Sims 3 collection then you are probably wondering what makes The Sims 3 Pets a worthy addition.

The good news is that The Sims 3 Pets brings a good amount of features to The Sims 3 and enhances game play in a positive way. Here is a review of some of those features and will help you to determine if The Sims 3 Pets is a the right expansion pack for you.

As the name implies, animals are the newest addition to your Sim family. In addition to a normal cat and dog, other pets available include birds, horses, lizards and even butterflies.
The interaction that your Sim can have with an animal varies depending on the type of pet. For example, birds have more social options than a snake does.

New Traits and Lifetime Wishes.

New animal-related lifetime wishes have also been added to the game. Goals like The Cat Herder (befriend 15 cats), The Zoologist (collect pets in the wild) and The Fairy Tale Finder (adopt a unicorn) all add a different path that you can take during game play. While some are more challenging than others, it is something that is sure to keep you engaged for a long time.

Just like in real life, your Sim can have traits that make them more of a cat person or a dog person. They can also be a general animal lover or an equestrian. Equestrian Sims' are more inclined to have better relationships with horses more than other Sims.
The animals themselves come with their own personality traits as well. Things like Destructive, Clueless, Lazy and Friendly affect the cats, dogs and horses because they are the most social of all the animals.

Non-pet related features.

Sure, The Sims 3 Pets is about the animals but thatÂ’s not all it brings to the table! Here are some other features that are also available to your Sims:

1. Outfits
As is standard to most expansion packs, a variety of new outfits is included.

2. Plastic Surgery.

Unlike any other Sims 3 game, The Sims 3 Pets add the option of letting your Sim get plastic surgery at the hospital. Beware though; all plastic surgery does not always have the desired results. On the other hand, your Sim may choose to opt out of getting plastic surgery all together.

3. Towns and Lots.

The Sims 3 Pets comes with a new town for your Sims to reside in called Appaloosa Plains. New community lots include a pet store, dog park and equestrian center.

In addition to all of the things we have listed, The Sims 3 Pets Limited Edition also comes with additional furniture and commands. Most of these things are animal-related so if animals are not something that you would want your Sims interacting with then this game may not be for you. However, most people will be sure to enjoy all of the new features in The Sims 3 Pets Limited Edition.
